Not everything is invalid, but everything can seem valid

In a previous post I mentioned that I had a theory that "everything is invalid". Now I realize that statement is not only false, but a misleading way to present the moral of the theory. Essentially, the theory goes that everything a person can possibly think or say can seemingly be justified with the right words. A part of me thought this invalidated everything that could be said; that even the theory invalidated itself. Now I realize that this is a glaring contradiction. However, I still think there's something to be drawn from the idea that anything a person can say may seem valid if explained the right way. This leads to the dangerous conclusion that anybody can be taken in by a thought, whether that thought is valid or not, hence the existence of conspiracy theorists like flat earthers. It's not just pathos either; dots can be connected and drawn in such elaborate ways between ideas that anything could seem logical even if it isn't. I know that I could do mor...

How coming up with fallacies stopped my schizophrenia

Around the time I was 13 or 14 years old, I was exposed to the idea that the devil sits on your left shoulder, while an angel sits on your right. This stuck with me in a bad way, and would only get worse from there. Throughout my teenage years, I held many superstitious beliefs characterized by mental health professionals as a kind of schizophrenia paired with obsessive compulsive disorder. I believed that there were demons out to get me, and that if I didn't comply with their demands to commit to bizarre ritual-like behaviors, something bad would happen. I would step over lines on the ground with only my right foot, turn faucets on and off over and over according to specific rules, all the while looking for confirmation that I was doing the right thing by looking for "omens" and feeling like I made a mistake when something bad happened. It all got to the point where I couldn't function without strong medication like Prozac. I became disabled, and it was hard to do a...

AAAAAAAAAAAAUGH... hi

It's been a while since I posted. There's a few things I want to post about, but finding the motivation is hard. Someone suggested to me that I have an executive function problem, and I would believe if it was true. I want to create stuff so badly, but my depression gets in the way of that.  Some thing I've been thinking of posting about are: My "Everything May Be Invalid" theory The three fallacies of my former superstitions When my world view got shifted  Anyway, I'll get to it at some point, maybe even tomorrow! We'll see.

Blog: what do?

What even is the purpose of a blog? I should probably do some research... Hi, I'm Rath! I'm a furry artist on the internet. You can find my art and my socials here . So what can you expect from this blog? Most likely, stories from me, my mental health journey, progress on my skill as an artist, and whatever nonsense comes to me.  So yeah, it might take me a moment to generate ideas so... be patient!
